Tenerife and its privileged climate: three seasons in a single day
04/03/2019
GF HOTELES VICTORIA
There are few places in the world as privileged as the island of Tenerife. Its weather and topography result in a succession of unique landscapes where you can find immense valleys, stunning volcanic environments, dreamy beaches, and lush forests that inspire imagination.
Many guests of the Hotel GF Victoria***** GL are interested in the possibilities that the island offers, so we have set out to make a day trip to experience firsthand the wonders of the Canary microclimate and, of course, to get to know some of the essential corners of Tenerife.

Snow on Mount Teide: the classic winter postcard
The drive from our hotel to Teide National Park might seem a bit long, but we're sure it will be worth it. Ideally, you should leave early to make the most of the day (although, of course, don't forget to stop by our Chaboco buffet first to start your day with the best breakfast).
Declared a World Heritage Site in 2007 , Mount Teide is one of the most unique places to visit during your stay in Tenerife. This immense, almost otherworldly landscape is a living testament to the intense volcanic activity that gave rise to an island full of contrasts and, of course, to what is currently the highest peak in Spain .
This is precisely the time of year when the coldest temperatures are recorded in the area, and sometimes we witness snowfall at the highest peaks. If you're lucky, you might see one of the most beautiful winter scenes in Tenerife . Don't forget to bring warm clothing because temperatures drop considerably in the park, but we assure you it will be an experience you won't regret.

A stroll among flowers and outdoor dining
The locals know that to explore Tenerife, sometimes you need to pack both a down jacket and a bikini in the trunk . We know that almond blossoms are more typical of winter, but if you have the chance to visit Santiago del Teide, you can enjoy an experience that rivals traditional Japanese and Korean gardens.
Moreover, the almond blossom route combines this fantastic spectacle of nature with incredible views of the Teide surroundings. The green of some of its charming meadows and the blossoms on the trees will make you feel like you're in the heart of spring, even in February.
But if you're looking to enjoy the area's excellent, mild temperatures, you absolutely must sample the local delicacies at any of the restaurants on this side of the island. If you love fish, it's also a great opportunity to try dishes like fried parrotfish, grouper, or moray eel… and of course, pair them with a good wine and some wrinkled potatoes.
